Mic Check!

Mic Check!

Wednesday 29 October

6:00pm – 8:30pm

Leeds Central Library, Calverley St, Leeds LS1 3AB

A vibes-filled after work showcase of Black poetry, spoken word and music.

Whether you’re a seasoned poet or amateur spoken word artist, come and take centre stage at this open mic session hosted by Leeds poet and literary activist KHADIJAH IBRAHIIM.

Enjoy smooth rhythms with a Lovers Rock tribute from reggae songbird PAULETTE MORRIS and DJ FLUID on decks.

Browse our ‘bring one take one’ Book Swap Station and the vibrant Black artisans’ marketplace curated by EBONY MILESTONE.

Be inspired by  pop-up poets weaving through the audience with poetry reflecting the Black History  Month 2025 theme, Standing Firm in Power & Pride and the Peepal Tree Press Sanctuary Anthology Showcase.

This is your after-work culture fix!
